Oh happy day, it's Friday! Despite the long list of errands to run - pantry provisions, banking, other humdrum tasks - I felt downright giddy this morning at the thought of a relaxing weekend. This skirt certainly topped off my mood, as I've been stalking it all season and finally grabbed it during J. Crew's 40% off sale items promo. I guess I could've experimented with pattern mixing, but a) I would've probably come up with a questionable styling and b) sometimes I just like an old school outfit. I felt almost like a schoolgirl in this, as this is something I would've definitely worn in high school, but I am hoping the bracelet and boots kept it away from an "underage and naughty" flavor. I hope.
The boots were one of my favorite purchases from a trip to Italy four years ago, from a cozy boot shop located right of Trevi Fountain. I take care to maintain/condition/clean these, as I'd like them to last for at least forty more years, but Baby Warrior may have other plans for them if he decides to secretly chuck one into the trash and/or think they're great receptacles for maple syrup. Haha! i'm glad my kids have not gotten it in their heads to take our stuff and hide them or destroy them. But who knows how the little one will turn out in a year or two.
ReplyDeleteI never know how to wear plaid skirts without looking like a schoolgirl, so I refrained from buying the J.crew ones when they were on sale, but I do like how you styled these with your awesome boots :)
