Gifted

J. Crew Jules Dress (similar, steal) :: J. Crew Factory Dot Popover (similar, steal) :: H&M Ribbed Tights (similar) :: Clarks Charlie Zip Boots :: Tory Burch Amanda Mini Crossbody (similar) :: Michael Kors Watch (similar) :: Forever 21 Oversized Chain Necklace

Sister's back in town visiting, with her fiancé this time, so our weekend kicks off today. Fiancé happens to be a hobby gourmet cook, so I can confidently predict a 3 pound weight gain this weekend. Anyway, Sister gifted me this dress (read: tunic for me, thanks, J. Crew, for skimping on 2 more inches...not) the last time she was here just two weeks ago, so I sported it today with thick ribbed tights due to the chilly weather this morning. The bag was a birthday present, the boots a Christmas gift, and the watch was an anniversary treasure from several years ago, so I'm clearly and luckily surrounded by thoughtful people with wonderful tastes. The dress/tunic doesn't exactly accentuate any figures, but it was comfortable to wear, and the purply blue color was needed to cheer me up considering:

1. Rude driver two cars ahead of me made a very abrupt stop, causing driver in front of me to slam on his brakes, which alarmed and caused me to, well, rear end the little Cruiser in front of me. No one was hurt, and I will never snark on another PT Cruiser again because thanks to its rubber bumper, my Volvo (cool car of the year, I know) and the other car suffered zero damage, just two minor conniptions from both of us. Crikey!

2. More importantly, Husband was told quite unexpectedly that he was hand picked for a different job, different country, different leave date, in an area deemed a combat zone. Thankfully not Afghanistan, and while it's a fantastic career opportunity for him and they're "grooming" him out of many for bigger things in the future, this will have his departure date significantly earlier than planned, which is never good news. Still trying to wrap my mind around it.

3. Did I mention I rear ended someone? Oy.

Still recovering from the mental and physical shocks of the day, sorry for the dry post. Friday can't get here soon enough.

  1. Very pretty color, and you ARE a lucky, lucky gal for having so many people buy you awesome gifts :)

Glad you're okay after your fender bender. And rubber bumper or not, PT cruisers still get my snark.

Sad face at your husband being deployed earlier than planned. And combat zone too? :( :( :(
