(FYI, I forgot to ask Husband to lug my big, new, and quite heavy mirror upstairs where we get the best natural light, so sorry for the depressing and dim lighting in photo number two.)

Is it just me, or does today feel annoyingly like a Monday? After two weeks of glorious and gluttonous staycationing, today was a dirty reality check of back to everydayness. Of course, Husband swiped the last can of caffeinated soda in the fridge this a.m, so you can imagine how well MY morning went...I'd take up coffee drinking, but I don't want to add to my long list of nonalcoholic beverage dependencies (hello, Crystal Light).

Moving on, although I traipsed all over the place today taking care of various errands and twitching periodically from caffeine withdrawal, I'm looking forward to a few happenings this month. My folks are coming to visit for my 3_th birthday, which always, always means tons of delicious dining, shopping, and sightseeing. My husband will be overseas for a bit and will miss my actual birthday, but at least he'll be back while my family is still visiting. I missed my parents and sister an awful lot during the holidays, so we'll be celebrating all over again upon their arrival.

And the biggest news of all - my little sister, who I'll dub Half Pint, got engaged over the holidays! I am so thrilled for her and her fiancé (who I'll call Buttered Chicken), and I am definitely already in planning mode with her. It'll be a big party in Savannah's historic district, much like my own wedding, and I know it will be a fantastic celebration that's been a long time coming.

Happy Faux Monday! Yes, I went there.

  1. I really (REALLY) like that maroon cardigan outfit. finding a similar sweater is something that is on my 'to-do" list but I haven't found one I like. I want a thicker one like yours.

Also those jeans: look fabulous on you.

    and congrats to your sister!

ok that's enough cut off sentences for now ;)
